Richard
joined Ken Saiki Design in 1999.
He is currently involved in a number of the firm’s projects including
site master planning and phased implementation for the Wisconsin State Fair
Park, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; planning, design and construction documentation for
the Crew House, Microbial Sciences Building and the Biotechnology Building
Addition at the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus; Planning and design of
the North Campus at UW-Stout; and various housing developments in Dane County.
Recently completed works include the Lake Geneva Beautification Study;
Healthstar Learning Center, UW-Madison; and the Ultratec Communications Center,
Madison, Wisconsin.
Prior
to joining Ken Saiki Design, Richard’s career included 12 years with Marshall
Erdman and Associates in Madison, Wisconsin and Hartford, Connecticut and 10
years in New York City with Vollmer Associates, Thomas Balsley Associates,
Walmsley and Company, Inc. and his own practice.
Richard’s experience includes site planning for medical facilities,
historic park restorations, botanic gardens, marina and waterfront developments,
streetscapes and housing.
He
is a former member of the Wisconsin and New York chapters ASLA executive
committees, including treasurer of the Wisconsin chapter and president of the
New York chapter.
